THE CHANOT ENSEMBLE was formed by Jeremy Ard in 1999, from experienced musicians in East Anglia.
Having a String Quartet as its basis, the Chanot Ensemble is an accomplished group of musicians, who can provide anything from a string quartet to a chamber orchestra to play at a wide variety of functions. The Ensemble is in demand for many special occasions and celebrations, including weddings, birthday parties, dinners, corporate events, garden parties, chamber concerts and choral concerts.
Rebecca Brown (Violin) Studied Music Performance at the Royal Holloway College. She then taught in Surrey whilst playing freelance in the Home Counties. Rebecca moved back to her home county of Lincolnshire nine years ago to continue teaching and playing.
Sarah Andrew (Violin) Studied Music Performance at University of East Anglia with Elizabeth Holbrook. Since graduating she has developed a successful teaching practise, and enjoys a busy performing schedule throughout East Anglia on both the violin and viola.
David Montgomery (Viola) Studied at the Birmingham Conservatoire. David played for six years in Norway for the Kristiansund Opera & Symphony Orchestras and the Bergen Opera Orchestra. After a period in Scotland he now combines teaching with freelance playing in East Anglia.
Jeremy Ard (Cello) Studied Music Performance at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, where he studied with Joan Dickson. This was followed by a period of work with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. Jeremy returned to Surrey to combine teaching and freelance performing, playing with such orchestras as the London Philharmonic and Symphony Orchestras. He moved to Norfolk 17 years ago and has a busy teaching schedule combined with playing extensively in East Anglia.
